Under the HERA umbrella, the Human & Environmental Risk Assessment joint initiative of A.I.S.E. and Cefic has updated two reports demonstrating that polycarboxylates used in low-phosphorus detergents do not pose a risk to the environment. The reports cover homo-polymers and co-polymers and were finalised and shared with the European Commission Detergents Working Group in February 2014. The initiative was in conjunction with major suppliers, BASF, Dow and Zeolite Mira and A.I.S.E. members, as well as users of polycarboxylates in detergents.
The reports include new generated test data and more detailed explanations than the previous version, including re-assessment of the whole available dataset.
