The first day of the
Helsinki Chemical Forum commenced with Dr Gavin Maxwell (EPAA Industry co-chair / Unilever) opening a poster exhibition on the EPAA HCF stand, showcasing EPAA, EPAA partner and EPAA collaborator activities to advance use of New Approach Methods (NAMs) for chemical regulatory decision-making with, including posters from DG GROW, DG ENV, DG JRC, DG RTD, ECHA, A.I.S.E., Cefic, Cosmetics Europe, Food Drink Europe, IFRA, ASPIS, and PARC.
A testimonial video highlighting EPAA’s impact and contributions was also shown on the stand, featuring contributions from prominent figures such as Sirpa Pietikainen and Tilly Metz from the European Parliament, Ofelia Bercaru from ECHA, Nik Kriz and Carlos das Neves from EFSA, Kristin Schreiber from DG GROW, Gavin Maxwell from EPAA, Sylvie Lemoine, and Steven Van de Broeck from Cefic, Emily McIvor, and Vera Rogiers from the EPAA Mirror Group. The shift towards animal testing-free chemicals regulation was also the focus of an EPAA-sponsored EURACTIV
opinion piece authored by Dr Ofelia Bercaru, Director for Prioritisation and Integration, ECHA that was published to coincide with HCF 2024.
