A.I.S.E. is pleased to announce the launch of a new voluntary industry product stewardship programme (PSP) for liquid detergent capsules. This new PSP which opened on 1 march 2015 replaces the current PSP for liquid laundry detergent capsules and enlarges its product scope in order to cover all liquid detergent capsules. Their overarching aim remains the same, to secure safe use and storage by consumers of liquid detergent capsules with a view to prevent and help reduce incidence of accidental exposure, in particular of small children. The voluntary programme is open to any company placing liquid laundry detergent capsules on the European market, regardless of whether or not they are members of A.I.S.E. or one of its national association.
Product: Participating companies commit to reducing visibility of the liquid laundry detergent capsules via obscure pack-aging or opaque packaging or any equivalent measure. Also, to address resistance and prevent Liquid Detergent Capsules from bursting when gripped by children, Liquid Detergent Capsules shall resist a mechanical compression strength of at least 300N.
Product information: Participating companies commit to take part into consumer communication activities and to reinforce on-pack communication. In particular, a Safe Use Patch shall clearly be displayed on pack in accordance with specific requirements.
The programme is open for signature. Any company wishing to participate can re-turn the letter of commitment signed and annexes filled in to A.I.S.E., Christine Boudet, Avenue Herrmann Debroux 15A, 1160 Brussels. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact
A.I.S.E. or its national associations.
