A.I.S.E.
continues its awareness-raising and advocacy work on the Green Claims Directive, considering the substantial progresses made in the development of the
legislative text. On 14 February 2024 the joint IMCO-ENVI Committee of the European Parliament voted the final report, whose overall result provides the green transition with
a harmonised, reliable and workable framework for green claims.
On this
matter, A.I.S.E. together with 9 industry associations, joined forces to
endorse the developments on the Green Claims Directive aiming to ensure
the establishment of a robust substantiation and verification of environmental
claims. The joint industry statement strongly encourages the decision of
the European Parliament to establish a simplified procedure and a presumption
of conformity for the verification of certain environmental claims, as well as
ensuring consumers a trustworthy, relevant and transparent information about
the sustainability of the products and services they choose.
