The 12th A.I.S.E. Information Day to be held on Wednesday, 9 December 2015, will focus on the Circular Economy in the detergents’ and maintenance products industry, with a view to inspire continued progress in the sector. A.I.S.E. will welcome several speakers including keynote speeches from Mr Hugo Schally (Head of Eco-Innovation and Circular Economy Unit, DG Environment, European Commission) and Mr Jocelyn Blériot from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. 

Aimed at industry members, related industries but also external stakeholders from the Commission, Members States, MEPs, NGOs, the Information Day traditionally provides an excellent forum for A.I.S.E. members and stakeholders to come together and discuss topics of mutual interest, review progress, and steer a unified and long-term approach. 

In the context of the latest industry innovations, the upcoming publication of the Circular Economy Package by the European Commission, and the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21), this year’s session will provide the perfect opportunity to discuss some practical applications of sustainability in the sector, but also explore new opportunities brought by  the Circular Economy on how to "close the loop”.   

Whilst a lot of progress has already been achieved by our Industry over the last decades through voluntary actions, the sector is keen to embrace arising opportunities and remains committed to taking action where appropriate. By working constructively and proactively with our value chain on such priorities, we hope to be able to further achieve tangible progress, enabling greater innovation and competitiveness of the EU industry.
