1 June 2015 - A.I.S.E. launches online consumer information to raise awareness of label changes

Consumer engagement

The CLP Regulation has introduced a new classification and labelling system for hazardous chemicals in the European Union. Since December 1st 2010, some substances and mixtures have already been labelled according to the new legislation. However, as of June 1st 2015, the Regulation will be the only legislation to apply to the classification and labelling of both substances and mixtures that are placed on the market from this date onwards.

All detergent manufacturers, including the A.I.S.E. network, have been preparing for label changes for many years due to the new features from the global harmonisation process on which the CLP Regulation is based. (You can access the EU Regulation here:

To make it easy for consumers to understand new labels and pictograms which appear on everyday products, the detergent industry today launches multilingual webpages and a quiz to raise awareness. The easily accessible info is now available online free of charge at this address: uk.cleanright.eu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4630&Itemid=4668

Since its launch in 2005, the industry portal www.cleanright.eu offers European consumers consistent and clear advice on the safe use of cleaning and maintenance products, in 25 languages. For more details please visit www.cleanright.eu.

A.I.S.E. is firmly committed to informing all users about CLP changes. It is our strong belief that, by guiding consumers and professional users through the meaning of the new labels, and therefore ensuring that products placed on the market are used appropriately, we can contribute to the safety objectives of CLP, for the benefit of people and the environment.
